The Murwillumbah Community Garden will be an interactive facility for the people of Tweed Shire; a place where whole families and individuals of all ages and abilities can share friendship, ideas, knowledge, and produce.
It will incorporate the principles of organic gardening, composting, water conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling in our garden. It will be a place where creativity and imagination may be expressed and engendered in others through art and craft activities, and possibly workshops.
The garden will consist of allotments where members can grow their own organic fruit, vegetables and flowers.
There will also be communal gardens where participants – both those who have an individual allotment and members who choose not to – may share the gardening and harvest, and from which charities or other relevant and worthy causes can be supplied with fresh produce for people in need.
